Clover and I were bunking in her room for the afternoon. Shades down, fan on and ready for nap time. At least I was.
As Clover got tired of tummy time, rolling over and giggle fits she dozed off for a few moments before waking up, fussing, whimpering and back to almost but not quite sleeping.
I didn’t mind, I wasn’t in a hurry and I was pretty comfortable.
As she lay there, her eyes open but almost asleep she found my fingers and held it. I wanted to cry and smile and laugh and coo. I was overwhelmed with emotion and sort of froze. She gripped tighter, bringing me into the moment and I curled my fingers into her hand. Her breath grew steady as my heart skipped a beat and all I could feel was love.
