10 Life Lessons to Excel in Your 30s

Mark Manson’s article 10 life lessons to excel in your 30’s made me smile and the funny thing is I’ve been following these not so little lessons since I was 24. My favourite are number 6 and 10.

I always thought I had to explain my decisions, why I left a secure job at 24, chose to volunteer and live overseas instead of settling down, travelled (almost) around the world to read, write, volunteer and Instagram, why I decided to simplify then become a minimalist and why I rejected an extension to a contract job to study full time in a totally different field. At the end of the day, I did and do these things because it feels right for me in the moment.

So now I do and share instead of trying to explain. And as a result I’m finding myself being surrounded by like minded people, I’m happier, have more time to just be and life is pretty awesome. Of course it’s not always daises, but I’m glad I’m making my own path and steps. Best decision ever.
