“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
Taking photos keeps me mindful. It allows me to be in the present and capture memories that I would otherwise forget. I capture moments of what I see, eat, do and mostly how I feel.
Seeing old cameras reminds me of Tatay, my grandfather who passed away when I was 15. He was always with a camera, documenting his day and displaying them proudly in neat, labelled albums. It’s been 12 years since he passed but I smile and remember him whenever I see cameras like these out in the world.
