01: Hubby does The first assignment from the joy of LOVE class was to take a photo of someone you love “doing” something. I picked hubby (naturally) and his “doing” pose was a no brainer. He had to be on the computer. He’s on the computer non stop, no seriously. He’s on it for work, play and rest. If he’s not on his computer he’s reading on his iPad or iPhone for that matter. But it doesn’t bother me. Plus I’m a bit of a geek myself hehe. Also you can always count on him to be online whenever I need to quickly IM him for any reason 🙂 So yes, for day 1, I took 92 photos. One reason is because I was getting back in to the swing of using my SLR (I’ve been using Aiteyla aka iPhone for photos for the past year). The second reason is that I tend to take multiple shots of everything until I’m happy with something. Plus I love the sound that it makes when you go “click”. For this shoot, hubby didn’t have to model too hard, he hacked away, listening to J-pop as I interrupted him every so often to show him my latest picture. The other part of the assignment is to be aware of the lighting. Now, our study is normally lit by an awesome Ikea lamp that just brightens up the whole room, but the bulb died and we haven’t gotten around to fixing it. To make the most of the lighting I had, I used the light source from his computer screens and my screen off to the side. I also placed a very bright desk lamp facing down so there was light to the bottom left of the shot. Our whole house is naturally orangey and warm, so I took advantage of that as well. It was a fun first shoot. I wonder what tomorrow’s assignment will be?
